The story of the Center
Jung Center Pakistan began with a wish to give Analytical Psychology a place in Pakistan. Psychological ideas do not arrive in an empty landscape; they meet particular histories, languages, religions, relationships and ways of understanding human life. The Center creates a place where Analytical Psychology can be studied and practiced seriously while remaining in conversation with the culture in which that work is taking place.
The Center was founded by Dr. Yasmeen Anwer, whose work has moved through medicine, psychiatric practice, public health and research, psychotherapy, and the study and teaching of Analytical Psychology. She is trained and supervised by the International Association of Analytical Psychology (IAAP).
Jung Center Pakistan now brings several strands of this work together. There is a clinical practice, a growing program of learning and study, and a developing professional community. Some of this work is structured; some takes the form of conversations, seminars and gatherings around particular questions and ideas.
Today, the Center brings together people who are studying, practicing and thinking seriously about Analytical Psychology, while creating more ways for this work to be encountered in Pakistan.
